For several years we had a Fifth Grade Garden Club that met every Thursday. The Master Gardeners that teach the club members are Cathy Thomas, Lead, Mary Brown, Second Lead, Dawn Hancock, and Erin Rhone. We did not have a club during the Pandemic, but we grew vegetables and donated to families at Meadowbrook. We are hoping to resume a club this year.
We cover so many gardening topics like composting, planting vegetables at the proper time, proper watering and fertilizing. We teach 5th grade science teaks. The students take vegetables home when we harvest. The students love harvesting the vegetables.
